About the League

The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra League began in 1987 as "Symphonia Obbligato", an auxiliary group organized to provide financial and volunteer support for the orchestra's performances and other activities. In 1991, It became a separate tax-exempt organization with its own by-laws, board of directors and officers. In 1994 and 2016, name changes were made to reflect the orchestra's name change and to clarify the League's mission.

The League provides opportunities for musical enrichment, meeting new friends, interacting with old friends, and participating in a variety of engaging activities. Whether you enjoy working together on a project or volunteering for a specific task, your participation can suit your schedule.

As a League member, you will enjoy such benefits as advance notice of Encore Affairs events, bi-monthly newsletter, opportunities to meet and interact with renowned guest artists and Symphony members, member recognition in concert programs, and social events with the Music Director, Concertmaster, and orchestra musicians.

Please consider becoming a valued member of the League. The Membership Form can be filled in online or downloaded to your computer so you can complete, print, and mail to us with your payment.
